Four science and technology (S&T) platforms, supported, promoted and funded by Genoma España, were lunched to serve research groups and, by extension, the whole Spanish society. They are the following:
Likewise, the innitiative to encourage the use of microarray technologies has also been recently implemented.
Thanks to the S&T platforms, Spanish researchers have access to affordable technologies that will enable them to develop new projects, especially high-performance ones, and increase their worldwide competitiveness. Using these technologies will also help them take part in large international projects and consortiums. This has been one of Genoma España's most ambitious initiatives to date.
A presentation of each S&T paltform and of the microarray initiative was organised (View/download programme) to publicise platform services, capacities and operations and the microarray initiative. The presentation brought together the scientific community, companies as well as public and private organizations linked to the S&T activity.
The presentation was closed by the Spanish Ministers for Education and Science, and Health and Consumer Affairs, María Jesús San Segundo and Elena Salgado, respectively.
